Hi John,

I am up in Beamish, Co.Durham.  I was going to post the same question after the thread that the guys in Wales started.  I haven't seen or heard much about CBGs locally, but I was wondering if there were any events or pub nights or gigs (or whatever) happening in the region that would be good to go to and meet up with like minded.  I have only been into this since the winter when I made my first guitar, but it gets a bit addictive, and I am now collecting parts for the next one (even though I am still learning to play the fist one).  If you hear of anything let me know, or if I can be of some help get in touch

The Bandits guitarist/singer Bad Bob Bates plays a CBG in his solo act.I was hoping to see him recently at a local pub but it clashed with a family wedding do.

Can't remember how many I had for the Thornaby workshop...20 or 25 if I recall, and it was my 2nd workshop in the North East, plus I've done 4 or 5 guitar shows in the area. Once I've made contact with people, they tend to come back to me rather than the forum for advice: for a lot of people, face to face contact is far more useful than the internet. That's probably around 70 people up there with cigarbox guitars either purchased from me or made at my workshops.
