click on the drop downs for the thickness you want.  They are local for me so I just run over whenever. I think they are pretty reasonable when it comes to exotic woods.  I'm making a fret board right now out of some nice Padauk I picked up, but honestly, I think from here out, unless it's for something really special, I'll stick to maple and some custom mixed stain. 

 

And hey, at least "Stumpy"s better than "Smelly".

I used 1/8 rosewood from Woodcrafters.  They might have thicker sock as well.  All sorts of exotics and non-exotics.  I am using the Stew Mac Fret saw and miter box.

There are many good quality fretboards available on ebay in a variety of woods reasonably priced, some are pre-fretted, usually for 25.5" string scale, they are designed for a conventional 6 string neck though only need glueing on and planing down / finishing to size.

I was at Woodcraft yesterday.  Their exotic hardwood stash has every flavor in 1/8 and 1/4 sock.  Alreaady milled dead flat.  All you need is a miter box and fret saw.

On my first build I used a product called Plyron. It is a super hard masonite. The last build used Rosewood that I got from Rocklier. It was just the right size and dead flat.
