Broom Wire Frets

I used broom wire from an old straw broom for frets when I made my Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer. I pre-drilled the holes with a finishing nail a little smaller than the wire. They used broom wire…Continue

Hope you used tuna cans so you get a nice funky smell when you play it! :)

Wow! Brilliant resonator! I have been inspired by your tricone tin can resonators:

It's made from some old food cans, hopefully i will be able to use it in a build soon.

nearly finished my first build , cut the fret markers out of ivory from a piano key. not quite sure if im happy to have elephant parts on my guitar . But the piano was dumped , and i came away with a bag full of ebony & ivory, and i am putting it to good use . Bit of a weird thought though.

Thanks for the invite Fergus. I now look at things in a totally different way and find myself squirelling all sorts of stuff away for potential cbg components. I've used the bowl part of a spoon for a jack socket plate and the tangs of a fork for a tailpiece. Just found some small samples of acrylic (what bathtubs are made of) which cut down nicely for nuts. Aluminium door plates that cover carpet joins across your doors, are also good cut down for nuts and bridges. Car boot sales are a great source of stuff. Computer speakers can be bought cheap to make small amps with. Bought an old thin, leather dog lead, tartan coloured on one side and nicely worn to make a cool strap for my next guitar.
