I like ebay too. For boxes, it's nice. I only have a few cigar boxes, but the other possibilities are fun, often cheap and make nice instruments. I'm suprised at how nice a thick cedar jewelry box can sound.

aye E bay is littered with them  I got a 40 year old one for a tenner from Gumtree  cool as hell and hanging like a pound of mince , but it`s go mojo

biggest problem i'm finding is getting a box.really dont want to build one from scratch or start with a metal one.  but there arent that many cigar places in my area.  may have to resort to ebay! still gonna be fun anyway

Did anyone notice the December edition of "Guitarist" , they did a gear review of a CBG , wow , they gave it a fair rave too , check it out

I`m pretty much in the same boat Daniel T . It`s a bit bewildering at first , but I reckon I have all the bits I require for my first , guess it`ll be a nine pickup 5 neck 34 stringer if I use all the bits LoL ,

Hello from Somerset UK! I found out about cbg's from an advert on my works forum for a cigar box guitar workshop run by chicken bone john. curiosity got the better of me and I went along.  loved the Idea and have started looking for bits to build my first 'solo build' CBG also started learning to play using the vids provided on here.suprisingly my wife actually prefers this to me trying to learn 'real' guitar and has even spent time looking for boxes and parts for me.  looking forward to getting to know more people on here!

Hello from Taos New Mexico, Ihave built 4 cbgs like the sound has me playing guitar a little again, really enjoy the building challenges I am a wood carver, and live on the side of a mountain at 8000 ft.  just having a kick putting them together

What's up Roy! Check out beavisaudio.com. Very easy to follow project plans to build your own 386 based amp. It's basically the same as the Ruby with a few component variations and some other cool features. Great web page for beginners
