Hullo Anna, welcome to the nation and what,if my experience is anything to go by,is probably going to become a near obsession.My advice is to start with a simple Diddley Bow build.maybe an acoustic build and hone your skills as you become more adventurous and experienced....but above all,have fun and don't be afraid to ask any questions of anyone....

Hi guys,
I'm Anna, I live in Wales, UK. I'm primarily a singer/songwriter/guitarist, currently doing solo acoustic folk & over the years been in various rock/metal/blues bands.

Always had an obsession with guitar gear & I've just discovered CBG's (not many of them about round these parts!). I'm waiting for surgery and can't gig at the moment so I'm planning my first build!

I have no electrical skills, no carpentry skills & I'm gonna be learning it all from scratch so we'll see how it goes! Pleased to be here - very excited about my first CBG! :)

Hi all, Gary from Liverpool UK, been playing guitar badly for a while now and pretending to be a carpenter for 30+ years so I thought I`d combine both and join the revolution, made 1 last summer (sounds greeeaaattt!) and then another for my brother in law, have several part built already but just read a thread about the `Cuban box` problem on e-bay which all my remaining boxes are, guess i`ll be making all my own boxes in future tried to buy 1st from the states but the shipping is 2-3x the cost of the boxes

Welcome to The Nation Molon Labe. Been at this stuff since 2012 and I still don't play well, but building these things is a great bit of fun and I have friends that play well so I get to hear the results of my labor. Enjoy the insanity and don't worry, it's not addictive, I've only built 21 so far and I can quit any time I want.

Greetings from KC all. Just came on board and am trying to figure this thing out. A co-worker shared the idea of Cigar Box Guitars with me and I have been intrigued ever since. Looking forward to learning and getting started on a build. Never played the guitar. I only have experience with two instruments and I play both extremely well. The first is my home stereo and the second is my car stereo. Been playing them for a long time and have gotten quit good. Glad to be here..

I have built a total of 21 so far, CBGs, Canjos and diddley bows. The fun never ends.
