I just put together this list. Yes it is not all for building/plans etc but it could be useful.
Members could build upon it.
Here you will find the following plans:

How to Build a Cigar Box Guitar These are the plans that started the Cigar Box Guitar Revolution. Build a simple 3-string CBG using an empty box, a plank of wood (easily found at your local hardware store) some strings and tuners.
Build a Cigar Box Violin first published 1949 Create a 1-string cigar box "cello" violin, similar to instruments used by the great Yiddish vaudeville performers of the turn-of-the-century. W. C. Fields appeared in a movie playing this instrument. (Link to video!)
Build an Uncle Enos Banjo first published circa 1870 The oldest known plans for a cigar box instrument, the Uncle Enos Banjo plans were written by Boy Scouts founder Daniel Carter Beard for a childrens magazine. The finished product is a very playable 5-string banjo.
Build a Cigar Box Violin first published 1949 Build a playable 4-string violin. Also includes plans to make your own fiddle bow, too.
Dr Oakroot's plans for a great Cigar Box Diddley Bow The diddley bow is a traditional one string instrument fundamental to the early blues. You can easily make a diddley bow using a cardboard cigar box, a guitar tuner, and a few other things.
A good set of links here including plans.

I think Stewmac is a good source for information although it is more about commercial string instruments.

I've used the fret calculator, and gained a lot of info from reading between the lines in the description of tools they sell.

http://www.stewmac.com/

I got my information about string height above fret from the instructions on using their string height measurement tool, and it was confirmed by a builder I know locally who is getting as much as $900 for guitars he builds (not CBGs though).

Keep the links coming please. After a while I will compile them for a "sticky" (Do we have such a thing as a sticky on this forum?)

I pleasantly surprised that my take on making a CBG is now in the "Free plans" section of the main page. It is in PDF form and presumably can be downloaded if anyone found it would be helpful to them.
It is a very personal approach to building, but I am always open to crits and improvements.
Brian that is a excellant plan format you put out there. I've buildt quite a few CBG's but can see that it can be very usefull for beginners and us that have built many. I like your writing style and hope you put out more in the future. Maybe reso builds, bolt on necks etc. Thanks Steve (Roots)

I am afraid that the article I am currently writing is "pseudo academic" but it does eventually come to a conclusion (opinion) about one approach to the construction of an acoustic CBG.

Reso builds is definitely on the cards as it is close to being my next project, but i have to say that there are a couple of great tuts out there on that style. One is a video (I hate videos tutorials) don't get me wrong it is great to see a CBG being built, but i have to keep looking at them. What I do is capture the steps as stills from the video and print them out!

The other project I have is a CBG "Symphony" (a type of medieval hurdy-gurdy) which should prove to be interesting. There is currently one guy on the forum is building a hurdy-gurdy violin I believe.

Meanwhile, thank you for your kind comments.
