Forgive my ignorance, never played before and I am searching for tabs. I noticed on my CBG which is tuned to an open G, GDg, when strumming the CBG I get a G chord when baring the third fret I get a C chord and when baring the 5th fret I get a D chord. Does this make sense to anyone or am I doing this all the wrong way. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Unless the frets are laid out for a dulcimer tuning barring at the third fret should yield an A#/Bb chord and barring at the fifth fret should yield a C chord.
