  i lucked out recently when i found a tiny hardware where all the builders go. i can get all sorts of size bolts and washers now. yay.
  but to give you a few ideas: 1)stick a small washer under the tail end hole and feed the string in from the bottom, 2) if you can't find those rivets, put some fret wire, a cotter pin, screw a flathead screw in and leave it up just a bit (you can guide the wire with this too), or do what i did with my first and just prop a small metal dowel directly in front of the holes. anyway these are just ideas.
  
  you'll probably think of dozens of things you could have done once you finish your first. I know I did.

  Welcome aboard, Stephen! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).
  
  Up in the Free Resources menu at the top, you will see a number of plans for building and playing cigar box guitars/ukuleles/banjos/dulcimers/violins. I encourage you to download any of the plans, take a look at them, and ask questions from there. Also our site is VERY searchable. I bet you your questions have already been asked, so take a few moments and look around.
