  • You didn't mention what you didn't like about the sound (volume, sustain, clarity, buzz, etc). mario games

Are there any sound holes in the box? I couldn't tell from the photo.

What scale length? What string sizes?

  • HOLY CRAP, I thought you fell off the face of the earth. When you gonna add some neat tips to the Secrets of the CBG Underground. I'm tapped out.

  • Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee

  • hey john i love the 6 string CBG's you built. I am building one too and i have a question. IS the guitar neck you used bolted on or set? i am really confused on which one i should do, because if i bolt on the neck i will have to rout a neck pocket which will make the fingerboard be below the box lid and it won't sound. What did you do on your beautiful 6 string CBG's? Any tips on building a 6 stringer would be greatly appreciated! thanks man
  • Yeah, I found my first National Resophonic at a Swap Meet/Farmer's Market out in the middle of nowhere in NJ back about '68. Paid 18 bucks for it! I've had numerous resos since. I once had a pair of '40s Regal Bell Brass ones for a while. I hate to retune on stage, so I like to have one Reso in open D tuning and one in open G. I'm down to only one now, so I just arrange my sets so that one set it is in G and the other in D. The one I have now that you see in the pic is modern Kay. They are hard to find, but I'll tell ya, I've never had a better resophonic! I'd play Nationals, but who can afford 'em (new or old!) I don't know if you can see it in that pic ( which I just did last week for a poster for a gig I've got this weekend ), but the cover plate is gold plated. Makes for an interesting look! There's some better pics of it on my web page. The covers of all of my CDs are down towards the bottom of the "2D" page. I'm also playing it on some of my YOU TUBE videos. BTW: Ted Crocker invited me to be his friend. I love his site! I've been there numerous times over the last few weeks! I wrote him a message and I wanted to send you a copy, but I lost it. I wrote him again and asked him to 4ward it 2 u. So you may yet get it! I sent him the URL to my Kinky Freedman CB, and I mentioned the the others, and your kind offer 2 help with the "reverse-engineering"! I also mentioned that I may have you do the work on that one 'cause that's one I mos def don't wanna screw up!
    Mo' Bettah Lattah!!
