  • hello joe, great job on the finished resonator build--looks great and i will bet it sounds great too. to answer a few of your questions---yes those are banjo hooks and lugs on the banjanator,i thought it would add to the banjo effect--plus it ties in the pan to the frame for more sustain. on the cohiba resonator--that is a tenor banjo neck i recycled and refinished with a tobacco finish to match the box better.thanks for your interest and your comments joe.
  • yo pops! the reso looks great. need to get it to me so i can take proper pictures of it! and then of course, you should give it to me. :)
  • wow-i been here on yer page fer about 10 minutes checking out yer reso you be are building.clicked over to my e-mail and found a comment from you.must be the serendipity effect. ohhhhh and by the way you got some cool work going on with the las cabrillas resonator. the balboa box is a perfect size for resonators.
  • very nice CBG, great job.
  • Thanks Randy. I think that is a cool idea. I was looking around at tamborines, but most do not adjust so the constant pressure of the strings may have had a effect on keeping it in tune. I think I might give one a shot sometime.
  • Thanks Rod. I could not figure it out. Should have guessed the obvious.
  • Joe, the ones on the top are guitar ferrules and the ball end ones are brass eyelets painted white. its what i had.
  • Thanks Rod. I am going to check it out. I really like the string through idea. It looks so clean.
  • Thanks for the comment and the question Joe. if you go to the first page of my pics and look for the one that says guts 1, you will see what i did, the strings go through the top and the neck but not the bottom. i can open that box even when strung up.
  • WOW! the slide show shows them a nice size, THAT PUPPY IS BEAUTIFUL! AWESOME.
