If you are doing an open mike, make no apologies, no excuses...just turn up the wick and take no prisoners. Play with confidence and conviction in what you are doing and give it 100%.  Make sure your guitar sound is going to be good - take your own amp if necessary, or a pedal that you know will give you your sound thru another amp or PA... and take no crap from the sound man. My experience is that most  punters will be wowed by their first time seeing someone playing a CBG, and most regular Les Paul toting players will feel a little bit shame-faced about being bested by some punk with a stick and a box compared with their thousands of pounds worth of gear. Stick it to 'em!!!

As you can see from the responses, London is a bit of a barren area when it comes to cbg, so it might be a bit of problem getting people together down here. But I'm still up for a beer, and if you're interested, me & Pyno are planning a trip out to Kent on 18th Feb. We're going to a rock open mic night and are gonna try to rock them cbg-style. It could be good or we could die! (great way to go though.) If you wanna come - we'll sort out the travel.

Helpful advice John - I am hoping to get a play on Sunday - there were some serious looking musos last month but they were pretty mediocre when they did their thing - fingers crossed some groovin on a CBG will wake them up
