I have seen some on the web....they are made by some company and I have seen some make them from scratch. Anyhow, they are a guitar amp that is stuffed into a shell that looks like a floor heater, they light up like one too. Welll I have a old stage 25 amp that has a really beatin up box...I found a old heater heater in my buddy's dad's barn and he said I could have it. They are around the same demensions so thought I could stuff all the electronics in the amp into the heater. I have the heater stripped of parts and sanded....now I just need to paint and I think drill some holes, add a grilll and I am done. But any way, I was trying to find some pics of these amps on line for some insporation, so if anyone can find these and post them, that would be awesome....here are some pics of the heater and amp.

  • No worries bro, Im look forward to seeing the finished kit! :o)
  • Looks so flippin' awesome in the dark.....ahh...nice and toasty. I hope to get mine going soon. It's an old 25 made by stage reverb amp that has seen better days. I am beting it has a cracked cone, so if that is the case I might swap a speaker or two...right now I am kinda working on a cbg (yeah another one, but from a wooden choclate box) so one project at a time. I have my heater ligthly sanded to get rid of light rust, and now it is waiting on some holes drilled and some paint. I think I might drill the holes first before I paint, but I gotta get the amp apart first. So, as soon as I am semi close to being done, I will hope to have up pics. Thanks for your help.
  • Hey man :o) Good to hear your going to do an amp.... not enough folk build cool amps these days! Iv not come across any factory built versions of what I did, but its pretty straight forward - mine is a Marshall 30W stuffed into a 1940s heater casing. There was a bit of an issue getting it to all fit in, but it turned out nice I think! I used 12V superbright LEDs designed for in / under / on cars which come on a handy sticky back strip. Make sure you wire it to the right side of the transformer though!! I wired mine into the switch, so it lights up when you flick the amp on. They wernt cheap, but its a hassle free way of doing it. Anything I can help ya with, drop me a line Good luck!

  • Lighting gels? What is that? I am going for red...I was just going to use a light....Like I said, mine will not be this nice, kinda peicing' this one together.

That's what I'm talking about. Mine wont be as big, and as cool I am sure, but a amp that lights up none of the less. I am going to use a red car light of some sort I think....that way I can plug it in, turn it on and off when I want. So far that is my plan.

I'm pretty sure he modded the heater himself.
