This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Nice pair Michael.

When it fails to post, you have to highlight - right click - copy - go to the non post and click edit - right click near the vertical prompt - click paste - then click on add/submit.

Annoying, but after you've posted a couple times it starts working right.

Just remember this:

Didn't think of that.

So... I`ve not bothered making any new guitars for a while. Everyone of my friends, relatives have one!

So in my covid lockdown boredom I decided to have a look at old guitars and sort out the niggly little errors I made early on.

I`m currently working on a 3 stringer, under saddle pickup and EQ pre amp. I`ve removed all the frets and added a radius ( something I did on later models) and will also make the box secure with angle brackets to stop unwanted movement.

Pretty easy work to be honest but I have a few more with errors that I can improve on.

Don`t we all ;)

ps, thanks Paul and BrianQ

Hi, this is another way I have always done it if mistakingly posting incorrectly. When I post I have always gone back into the forum and checked that the new post is there. If it is and it is blank I click on the Edit button, which takes me back to the Reply section, but instead of re-editing I swap to HTML and repost. Then delete the incorrect post.
Taff

I got that SG together, but I had a 1/4" space between the strings and the last fret. The neck pocket(bolt on neck) had a degree cut, but they didn't figure it right. The bridge post were all the way down so I couldn't adjust.

I need a neck shim. I was going to cut my own, but didn't have any suitable wood with the right dimensions. I can't use end grain because it'll split all to pieces in thin sheets. So I ordered a pack of shims from Stewmac. They make them from maple and they're not end grain. They are expensive. Set of 3 for 25 bucks, but you get 3 different degree shims(.25/.5/1degree).

I thought it was going to need the 1 degree shim, but it ended up being the .25 shim and having to raise the bridge 1/8" to get it all correct. Also had to adjust the intonation since the process moved the nut a bit further away from the bridge. Funny how a small change can make so much difference. Anyway, this one is done except for some pickup height adjustments. Loving these pickups.

Can we hear it, can we hear it?
