Just got back from Gerry's fantastic CBG show at the Barrington Coffee House.  As a matter of interest. How many folks live in and around the Washingtond DC area?

Would you be willing to help on a CBG event here in the DC, Baltimore, NOVA area?

Would you come to one?

Do you perform?  Solo? In a Group?

Hmmmmm...I live in Falls Church, VA. If I were to perform, it would be solo. It would all depend on the location and my work schedule.
Cool - I'm in Silver Spring. I'm in the same boat as you regarding work and performing. I'm trying to find out who is in the area to gauge if there would be support for anything from getting Shane and Gerry down here, to a larger show or "festival" with several acts.

It looks like there are at least some active folks that live around the DC area and more lurkers.

I hear Iggy is relocating to Northern VA.

If I ever finish my CBG, I'd play either alone or with someone else or both. I'd help put the show together as well, too. Wonder if Jammin' Java or Ebineezer's Coffee House on Capital Hill might be possible venues.

Corey
Jammin Java is a good idea!

Heh, perhaps Clinton would show up and blow his horn (sex... er, sax). Maybe you can invite Obama. Does he play an instrument?

Wow there were a lot of sexual connotations in that statement.

Count me in as a solo act.

Best regards, Willie
The Humidor Trubadours would absolutely be down for it. I'm in Rockville and have been getting excited seeing more people from the DC area showing up on here over the past couple of years.
If people don't mind traveling to Greenbelt, I'd like to put in a plug for the New Deal Cafe (not to be confused with the Nude Eel Cafe where Clinton will be performing). Its a mere 5 miles from DC and Greenbelt is extremely grassroots oriented and would love this movement of musicians/builders. They'd probably give us keys to the city for building with reused objects. If this sounds like a viable option to anyone, let me know. I don't live in Greenbelt anymore but that's where I cut my teeth playing so I've still got some connections.
the New Deal Cafe is great! We did a show there last week and are doing another one on July 16th. It would be perfect place!!! but they are now booking way in advance. :-).

Well that sounds like at least 2 acts. If they are all booked up then maybe we should bypass them and get the City on board for an outdoor thing in Roosevelt Center. I don't know who's doing the booking now so I'll leave that ball on your court. Let me know how I can help. What group are you playing with?
I'm in Alexandria. Still learning which end of the box to play, but I'd love to attend and hopefully pick up a few tips!
