I've used them a number of times, and think it's worth the $8. The ability to dial in a proper intonation and action for each string is critical when making fretted guitars. I have one on this build...

tThank you. Yes it is a humbucker. I wind many of my own pickups, but only single coils as of now.

Yep, Elmar makes great pups. Used one on a lapsteel guitar I built for a friend in return for an electric acoustic resonator ukulele

He offers them in black, chrome, and gold. They're decent quality and not expensive at all.
