Hi everyone. I have made some linear power booster pedals which are now ready for sale!
These pedals are ideal for cigar box guitars as they give your signal a very clean "boost" which is especially useful if you use piezo pick ups, but also work extremely well on single coil and humbuckers.
Very useful if you play with a group as you can stand out a bit more on solos etc, but also great for the solo player to get a greater sound! (really great on overdriven type sounds)
As you can see from the pictures below, it is a very simple pedal with the input jack on the right and output jack on the left. They come with a battery, but can also be powered via a standard 9 volt dc pedal power supply. Standard footswitch operation and turn the dial up for increased signal and down for decreased! Simples!
All good quality components, lovingly hand crafted by myself.
Cost is £25 plus £2.50 p&p (uk only)
If you would like one, then add me as a friend and then message me here on the nation. I will then send you a paypal request and get it to you as soon as poss.
Cheers, Alan.

Very nice, I could be tempted!!!
Do you make any other gear? Would always prefer to buy from someone on here rather than an anonymous ebayer.
Hi john, thanks for the comment. As yet I don't have anything built but I am currently looking at some basic, fun microphones and maybe some other pedals. Time(and money!), as always is the enemy, but as soon as I do I will post them here. I have made little practise amps out of the "ruby" kit you can buy(Check out my jack daniels amp on my pictures) and a couple of distortion type pedals, which I took to this years boxstock festival.
Many thanks, Alan.
Hi Alan,
The pedal arrived safely yesterday, thanks for the prompt dispatch.
It sounds great. I tested it through my Epiphone Valve Junior. With the pedal control at 11.00 the amp is just starting to break up nicely. As the gain on the pedal is increased a lovely singing sustain starts to emerge, until at full gain we are firmly into Chernobyl territory, but in a good way. Appearance wise the decal looks nice and neat, as does the soldering. Thanks for the good work.

Hi Martin. Thanks for the feedback. Enjoy disturbing the neighbours!!!
Alan.
I recieved my pedal from Alan the other day and have now had a chance to play with it.
I particularly like the fact that it can be set to negative as well as positive boost.
I tested it with a 6 string guitar as I've yet to get a CBG and ran it through my Fender Mustang 3 amp set to model a basic '57 Champ valve amp.
The +ve side provides a nice level of boost for a solo without going overboard. However, I found the sound better if I set the boost to -ve with the pedal on and switched it off to get the boost effect. It may have been the way it interacts with that model of amp; sounds nice that way anyway. I'll have to try with some other amp models.
Looking around inside there's a tidy bit of work in there! All in all a useful addition to my pedals. Good job Alan, thanks very much.
