Dylan: A Handmade Tribute

Cigar Box Nation members interpret the music of Bob Dylan onto handmade instruments.  Originally released in 2013, this tribute was arranged, compiled and produced by C# Merle with help from Silent Jim.

Merle Ace dude, and brilliant recording guys. Nice that you posted the songs on the page too.

I'm looking forward too Handmade Dylan #2

I would like to have this album for my collection, BUT putlocker hijacked my browser (Chrome) and installed some crap that took me almost 2 hours to get rid of. No Dylan CBN album for me at this time.

A great album with many textures and sounds,Salud, CBN,and C# Merle

I get a incompatibility message when I try to download the Dylan download on Windows 7 Home Premium. Has anybody else had this problem or is it just me

It made me update to Google Chrome! Then made me add the PutLocker Download Manager! And when I did download the file, it was unextractable / unreadable! And when I finally did DL it using PutLocker's DL Manager, and tried to extract it, it asked for a Password! WTF?! Waaaahhhh! What gives?

Dropbox, dudes...

And Uncle Tom Cobbly and all!!  lol  Hope ya managed to get it eventually, Ron. :)

SJ,

Yep, figured that I needed to click "Continue as free user" on try number 7. I'm slow, and I absolutely detest non-obvious click-throughs like that. Not your or Merle's fault, though. Finally got it DL'd and extracted, listening to Turtlehead on "Shelter," Track 1, right now. Very clean recording, balance is excellent. OK, on to "Quinn:" First thing I notice is that the sound levels on Track 1 and Track 2 do not appear to be the same; Track 2 sounds quieter, especially the vocals. (I'm listening through cheesy computer speakers, BTW). But still, clean sounding. OK, Track 3, Vinnie's up with "Gotta Serve Somebody:" I hear a tad background hiss or noise when the vocals come in, but overall it sounds pretty clean and balanced, 'bout the same volume as "Quinn." Mr C's up with "House Carpenter:" V. clean and balanced as well. So far, Tracks 2, 3, 4 sound the same volume, while Track 1 sounds louder. Will send more detailed notes direct to you and Merle over the next few days.

One thing I can say, as I quickly sample across the album: Every track is amazing in it's own way, and every single damn one gives off a Sixties vibe (seriously enhanced by the Happening-inspired Visualization on Windows Media Player). It sounds real, it sounds raw, it sounds passionate, it sounds like we should all be out in the streets protesting sumpin'...makes me wanna go put on a caftan, and dig out my bong! :-) That's as much to do with the editing and mixing as it is the performances. Good on yers, SJ and merle! And all the rest of you nutcases: excellent work!

Yes lets all dig out our Bongs!
