I just finished the CBG I have been working on over the last few weeks. This was a lot of fun to build and I am already starting on the next one. Please let me know what you think. I tried to use as many hand tools as possible when shaping the neck and headstock. It has a standard Radio Shack piezo, tung oiled poplar neck, red oak fretboard with burned frets and cut down .357 Mag bullet casings for markers. It plays great with a slide. It is loud when played unplugged very nice sound in my opinion, although I have not heard any others in person to compare it to. After I adjusted my amp it sound great plugged in too.

nice box. I am working on my first cbg now, but I think I will keep it to myself and save myself some embarassment. nice job.
Fantastic Job !!! Like the fret board and the shell caseins fret markers Cann't wait to see the next one ... You done yourself proud ...
Man, that's awesome. Gives me something to aspire to for my first one!
Very nice, great work. What kind of hand tool did you use to shave down the neck? Great ideas.
I used a coping saw, wood file, and various grades of sand paper to shape and plane the headstock. The corners on the back of the neck were shaped by hand with sandpaper working from very course down to very fine. I then applied tung oil to the neck in many light coats and buffed it out with fine steel wool after each coat dried to seal the wood and provide a smooth playing surface.

Wow, babe! That is a very nice looking instrument. I love the bullet markers. I've never seen them used before...brilliant!
Great looking instrument :) But, how could you do this to me? I am newborn into this community, and plan to build one, but..... Maybe Norway can do without a cigarbox guitar.
If I should try anyway, is there any rules for what a proper Ciguitar should be like?

Very nice details! I love the layering of wood in the tail, nice touch.
No rules thats the beauy of it. I set out to make a guitar that I thought would look great and hopefully play decently. I would suggest spending time planning how you want to go about things. Having said that also leave room for last minute changes and tweaks I guess what Im saying is you dont even have to follow your own rules haha.
