Here it is - a pickup made from a mains adaptor. The guitar is a bit rough as I have only finished it today and it needs some adjustment. Lots more experimentation needed I think to improve the sound quality but I am sure you will agree a pickup for 10 pence is worth having!

Inspirational, I've already started collecting some of these adapters and busting them open. Tell me, is there no pick-up cover on this? It looks like you just poked the coil through and painted it black.

''' Here are some pics of mine, it won't be finished until some time this week.....I broke some of the sodering off of the AC adaptor coil, so I have to re soder some spots. I tie mine in with a peizo, I might not do that at first to see what happens. I am useing cheap ceramic magents on mine, they tend to have a bit of a warmer sound than the neo button magnets....I dont't have any strings, or I would try to string it up real fast and give it a test run...I do have some odd E strings laying around....hmmmm.

Really like the sounds that come from these adapters! Its taken me four attempts at breaking them apart and wiring them up to where i now am happy with them. Also i'm using magnets.
