G'day all,I received a cheap pre-amp in the mail today, & it came with a rod piezo. My question is, can this be glued to the bottom of the sound board like a disk, or would I be better off making…Continue

G'day All,Just wondering if there is a preferred type of varnish to use on a bare neck, i.e no fret board. Something that wont peel off or wear to quickly. I notice the neck of the cbg I built late…Continue

"Rule of thumb is the distance from the nut to 12th fret is the same as 12th fret to where the string touches the bridge - i.e the 12th fret is always 1/2 the scale length (give or take a touch for intonation), It looks like if you wind your 3 bridge…"

"The biggest problem in soldering is not cleaning the terminals, wire, and iron. Use a stiff bristled brush and clean everything with alcohol, then don't touch it with your fingers. You will be surprised how well the solder flows."

"That would work, just make sure the wire has the tightest fit possible in the connectors or you’ll get some noise. Grounding the strings is very necessary & a given, 60 cycle hum will drive you mad! Don’t fret about your soldering…"

My soldering is pretty bad so I was wondering if this would work - running a wire from the jack to the tail piece using electrical conectors. If not, then I guess I'd better start practicing my soldering! ( Tried to include a pic but it dosent seem to work). Cheers!…See More
