At 6:02pm on October 19, 2010, bairfoot cajun said…: howdy c baxter,just stopped by to answer your question about distressing the cigar box on the banjo neck cigar box guitar guitar build. i used sandpaper to go through the original stain then used pipe tobacco and h2o to re-stain the area i sanded,it came out less dark there- then i re-sanded the tobacco and h2o area but in a smaller area to create 3 different shades of distressing. the heaviest distressing is mostly in the areas where the box would wear in a normal fashion over a period of time from playing the instrument.
