Started this discussion. Last reply by wormil Jul 25, 2012. 5 Replies

I'm working on my second build, an eight-string bouzouki using an Edge cigar box. My first build was a simple three-string with a one-piece neck through box glued to the underside of the box top and…Continue

The Werewolverine - I Feel Ghosts Here (Couch by Couchwest 2013)

"Capoed at the first fret to play in E minor. Had a little bit of a capo malfunction there at the end, which was a good thing because we haven't worked out how to end the song yet.  Check out a whole bunch of great music at…"

"Wow, interesting. You know what's crazy? I came on here to start a thread about an awesome book I just read. It's called The Violin Maker. It's all about modern violin makers living in the shadow of Strad and Guarneri, trying to…"

"Uke's don't need it cos there is substantially less difference in diameter between the light and heavy strings.. Classical guitars don't need sod all either. It's not about scale length, it's about the fatness of the…"

"I really don't know but apparently somewhere around mandolin scale, 14". Since ukuleles don't have them I imagine it is exaggerated by the number of strings. I had to switch out the bridge and nut on my first build several…"

Ryan Lansing replied to Will Hatch's discussion how many frets?
"The answer I've seen on here when other people have asked this is to just type in a really high number, like 30 or so, and then leave off the ones you don't have room for. That's what I did on my just-completed first stick…"
