Pickup placement on a cigar box Diddley Bow

Hi all..I'm about to embark on installing an old Sekova guitar pickup into my recently constructed CB Diddley Bow....After thinking about various mounting options i came up  with this one..I remember seeing a DBo pic with a jazz bass pickup mounted similarly but i figured i'd ask "The Nation" for opinions.....Thanx much... "I've done both....I prefer thru the box. The only reason I found for doing them outside the box was because the box was only 1" thick. It sounds pretty good...but I do believe a pickup is in order, I find the sound is a bit low. "

"Seen a few played where the right hand thumb is planted against the neck on the top edge, then finger pick the strings... looked like a good technique. I'm gonna make one soon.  "
