Raising the nut action?

- How did you learn about Cigar Box Nation?
- Research. I'm not sure how I originally stumble across the cigar box guitar instrument, but once I did, there was no stopping me! I had to learn as much as I could, and my research brought me here.
- How many instruments have you built so far?
- How many have I built? None. I would really like to get into it thought. I decided to start off by buying one and making tweaks as necessary to try and make it "just right" as I have little to NO experience to wood working and carpentry. As it turns out, I got a really crappy one that needs a fair bit of work to get going, so I doubt I will be able to fully get building (or playing for that matter!)
- What do you find most interesting about cigar box guitars? (If you do not enter something meaningful here (at least one sentence long), your membership may be rejected as a spam/bot fake account).
- Everything. From the music to the tuning to the building of them, I am absolutely infatuated with them. I want to start building my own cbgs, but I need to gain a little experience first. I decided to start my adventures by buying a good CBG and tweaking it to get it right, but as it turns out, it is a really crappy one. The box wasn't braced enough, so the lid/top of the box is Boeing where the strings go through it, and at the neck end of the box it is bowing up and out of the CBG. Yikes! It's got a lot of fret buzz, like a lot, and it's gonna take a lot to get this hunka goin.
