F--- the blues.

Oh that just sucks...big time! Hang in there, it'll all turn out better for ya in the end. Be looking for you in PA. And, contrary to Jon, third time was the charm for me but hey, don't use me as an…

First CBG just about done - Looks good, but won't stay tuned...

Along with what everyone else has suggested, take a look at how your tuners are mounted. The way the tension from the strings are on the posts, it would tend to pull the gear on the post away from th…

How did you get started???

I had known about CBG's for years but not more than that. Had played a bit of 6 string guitar a long time ago but was never a good player in any sense of the word, somewhat intimidated by all the peo…

Hi David and welcome to the madness! I'll take a stab at your questions but bear in mind its just my opinions...other may have other and better reasons :) I'd pull the liner strips out and save them for some other use. They just take up space and m…

Nice build! I like your sound hole design, just may have to steal it :) Yep, yer hooked alrighty...good to admit it right from the start. Is it strictly acoustic or did you put a piezo in there also?

Nobody would know how tickled you are about it either! I dig the enthusiasm. Looks like your first build turned out well. You are planning a second (and a third, and a fourth, and...) aren't you?

Along with what everyone else has suggested, take a look at how your tuners are mounted. The way the tension from the strings are on the posts, it would tend to pull the gear on the post away from the worm gear on the knob just a wee bit. That tiny…

Mark, Thanks for the compliment. It sounds every bit as good as it looks...good volume and tone. Actually, I like the way it sounds acoustically that I rarely plug it in.

Very nice overall look, good job.

Looks nice, your tailpiece looks like some of mine, great minds think alike eh. I'm digging the Rickenbacher sound hole. I wonder what the called it, it's not an F shape more like an A to me. : )

Nice build. Does it sound as good as it looks?

2nd build done!

Found an excuse to do a second build! Giving this one as a gift to a friend. Decided to build it the same as the first since that one worked out so well so I wanted to make sure that the gift would work out well. The experiments and dodgy craftsmanship I keep for myself. This one is built just about exactly like the first except it's a bit sturdier. With the first one, remove one screw and the whole thing will literally fall apart. This one, the lid is glued to the neck and then secured to the b… Continue

Hey there Kaptn! ...the piece I used for the bridge is a Turnbuckle - Saddle bolt. It comes with an eyebolt and a hook. Also found ones without the dip or "saddle", gonna try one of those next. Hope all is well.

Hey KaptnKen, that is a great idea with the pivot. If you don't mind, I will try it on mine. You are the roll making the CBGs. Keep up the great work.

Hey KaptnKen, Very nice first build, great job. What are you using on the tailpiece to keep the strings from cutting the wood? I tried brass gromlets, it bent them when I tightened the strings.

Welcome aboard, Keng! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).

Most of all, have fun!
