GORD DOWNIE OF THE TRAGICALLY HIP DIES

Posted on October 18, 2017 at 10:30am 1 Comment

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbxA-4MNc-M

Gord Downie, the Tragically Hip frontman who united a diverse array of music lovers with his commanding stage presence and Canadiana-laced lyrics, has died.

He was 53.( copied from CBC NEWS)

I was fortunate enough  to see The Tragically Hip on a warm summer day outdoors early in their  careers. It was a Quadruple event with Midnight Oil, Hothouse Flowers , Daniel Lanois…

Backslider Tricone Review

Posted on June 14, 2017 at 9:24pm 1 Comment

I was quite surprised receiving   an email from Milt asking me if he could send me a guitar. I was even more surprised when it was the Paint Lid Tricone. The guitar played acoustically, has good resonance and tone.Plugged in , it goes from clean to dirty no questions asked , very easy to dial in . Oak neck , walnut…

2 Jim's banjo, Love the sound resonace and build quality. Reminds me of a working mans instrument.Check out the video.

Thanks man. I prefer the tone and feel of nylon. And at this stage don't have as much time as I'd like to learn other instruments, different string configs etc - so did as 6 string. Fretless was an experiment. It's all for fun anyway :-)

Hi Coco, my amp is now almost finished, on occasion I will still set some nice pictures. The sound is very dense and goes towards the middle and bass. I'm not a problem, I prefer the "Honeytone" with a little less height. Since I hunt the whole but more often by a Flanger or Sustainer, can also be made here appropriate settings. Because of "Prost": 619 breweries exist in Bavaria for 11Mio. People. So we have to do.

Hi Erasmo, the Speaker is a 12" Celestion 70/80.

As wax I take a wood wax for example. From Osmo (I do not know if this product is available in your country). It is available in various colors. Oak, walnut, cherry ... If you stack several layers, it becomes more velvety and more even. Something to be careful with the wood glue. Where glue leaks at the adhesive surfaces, the wax sticks worse. So be careful. greetings from Bavaria Schorsch
