Leave the soundpost in. On my instruments, I position the piezo pickups between a wine cork post and the sound board (I have done this with a wooden soundpost as well). It's all about experimentation anyway, to see what works, what will give one the SOUND. CHEERS!
Well, I think I can enlighten you there! The soundpost is basically to transfer the vibrations to the backboard, so you get a better sound. Its a real science apparently... just a few mm can make all the difference, and even damage the back if its installed wrong. Then again, folk say guitars should have 6 strings.... what do they know??lol
