  • "10 extra bucks for gas and ice cream"!

I didn't discover it till I went to the bank a couple days later. You are a great guy, Marvin! But I feel guilty, so if you're ever down my way, I'll treat you to a meal or somethin', okay?
  • Marvin - Yup. All songs in open C. However, the banjo might've actually been at Cb or C# or worse. I just tuned it to itself on any given day! "Evensong" is also open C tuning; just starts on a different chord. Say -- I think you overpaid me, BTW...
  • Hey Marvin!
    Thanks for the befriending.
Man, i love that amp you made.
    That sucker is good lookin'.
    Friendly greetings,
    Shelley.
  • I gotta go back to work now, talk to you later!
  • Marvin -- Tel you what: E-mail me and I'll send you some pix and we can continue the discussion off this site. Just sign in, go to my page, and click "send a message".
  • Marvin -- So, you're now in Ft. Collins, huh? If you get out to blues jams (I think Nathan King does that a bit), there's a bunch of 'em up & down the front range. Maybe I'll see you at one sometime, though I don't get out quite as often as I used to. As for the Ruskin banjo, it's long gone, but I do have a number of other CBBs at home that are for sale ($150). Or were you talking about the Ruskin cigar box itself, wondering if I had more? If so, nope! That was an eBay purchase.
  • Marvin, just spotted your chat from earlier ... For the record, Ben Prestage plays a Lowebow made by John Lowe (Johnny Lowebow on the forums), and not Henry Lowman. :-))
  • I know, I love the way each one sort of evolves as you build. It's either that or my planning ain't so great!
  • Hello, and glad to meet you.Keep up the nice work.
  • Welcome aboard, MArvin! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).

Up in the Free Resources menu at the top, you will see a number of plans for building and playing cigar box guitars/ukuleles/banjos/dulcimers/violins. I encourage you to download any of the plans, take a look at them, and ask questions from there. Also our site is VERY searchable. I bet you your questions have already been asked, so take a few moments and look around.

Join our Chat sometime (see the bar at the bottom of your browser page). Keep in mind that tho the chat window says there are X number of people online, not all may have the chat window up.

    Most of all, have fun!

    -Wes
