Banjo Build Diary: Day 7 [Playing Jambalaya]

I recently finished my American Banjo Kit from Carver Banjos. I decided to merge the Banjo Build Diary series with my existing Sunday Songs series. This week, I do a cover of Jambalaya (originally recorded by Hank Williams) on my newly built banjo, tambourine, and harmonica.

There's a playlist that contains all the videos in this series here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwIixlr7C6KVG1LV-W4W8KxblRgMHnzG5

I appreciate the kind words AGP, Dave, and t-belly. I should've known the CBN crowd wouldn't care about a pick. ;-)

Sounds great Kale. She’s a loud Banjer. Picks are little amplifiers. It holds tune nice. Right on with your harp.

Looks Like a Banjer, and Sounds Like a Banjer, and a great tune to Christen it with! :-)

So true Doug. As far as I'm concerned... if you can beat your shoe on an instrument and make cool sounds... go for it.

Well played Kale! Sounded great! Who said guys can’t multitask! As for pick use ... this is Cigar Box Nation . . . No rules ! ! ! I play my ukulele and bass with pick because it works for me.

Thanks John. I've never been good at the cajun style but I figured it was the right vibe for this banjo.
