AGP #454 - “Strainer Reso”
3 String Fretless Baritone Guitar
Scale: 29 inches
Strings: .044NW .030NW .020NW
Tune: F C f

The Body Frame is solid 38mm recycled Radiata Pine, the Bottom Board is recycled 4mm Laminated Cedar Venetian Blind Slats, the Top Soundboard is store bought 7mm Pine Ply, the Neck is recycled Grey Iron Bark and Cypress Pine, all coated with an Oak Stain, and 2 Coats of British Paints Acrylic Clear Gloss.

A 15k Humbucker is wired through Vol and Tone Pots to the Output Jack.
The Reso Strainer was from a collapsible Steamer Strainer, bought solely for the purpose of using the leaves as Guitar Tailpieces, such as the one on this Build.

The Body Shape and approx dimensions were nicked from MGB Guitars Florida’s great Fat Bottom Guitar Body Kit design, hope he doesn’t mind, this is the second time I’ve used this lovely looking shape, it just looks so right, well!, to me anyway. :-)

Comment by AGP # on January 24, 2022 at 12:22pm: "Correctamundo UJ", one of my favourite Scale Length & String Gauge combinations is 25¾ inches Scale, .044NW .030NW .020NW Strings, Tuned GDg, decided to use the same String gauges on this one, but had to lower the Tuning to FCf, as the GDg tension on the Strings would have been a bit to tight for my liking, not real sure, but I think it was a Charles Atchison article back at the start of my building addiction, which recommended, because we are using non Truss Rod Necks, to use a Single String Tension of around 10kg/22lbs, I usually go for around 11kg/24lbs, which usually gives me the option of using a higher or lower tuning, however the confusing thing about the many String Tension Calculators on line, is that they all give a different reading on the string you are enquiring about, I personally use the one linked here, as I find it very easy to use, and it seems to work for me!, whether it or any of the other's are correct or not, is any body's bloody guess. :-D The McDonald Patent Universal String Tension Calculator
