1921 Portuguese "reconstruction" homemade 4 string guitar

A fisherman in 1921 build a 4 string guitar for his son, well.. that's the story for the throwback holiday build-off. 17 inch scale (tenor uke), reclaimed door panels, all binded together with ropes, sides a pieces from a sail, the home tuners are "fado" style, the fretboard ad bridge are made out of timewise accurate ruler, frets are rope too. The case has some secret compartments but is actually a case from the 1920 tees. There's a extended video on Youtube with the whole story and the build.

Comment by Gerrit Klaassen on December 24, 2021 at 1:47pm: @Jan Pili; It's normal agriculture rope (the one you put on sticks to measure), originally that would have to be gut rope, but I didn't buy anything for this build (I hardly by any parts, that's the whole idea of making these kind of instruments), and it works really well with ukulele strings (steel strings would wear out the frets to quickly). A modern touch could be a small layer of CA glue.
