Hopefully the Fruit Cake Tin will act as the reso after I put some sound holes in it. Probably sound like a banjo or something wierd. I'll have some experimenting to do when I get faurther along.
Got to try & finish a few more guitars this week, there is a guitar swap meet in South Haven, Mi. the 15th I want to attend.
Added volume pot on guitar & solved all the problems!
First of all, I know next to nothing about resonator guitars other than I like them.
Your neck looks like it is contacting the top of the tin. Just wondering if it would be good to have some space between the neck and the top so maybe it could vibrate more might add volume. Just wondering.
It's a great looking rig. I really like it.
Fred: It's actually bolted to the top, works better. It was so loud that I had to add a volume knob to run it through an amp, otherwise I couldn't turn my amp past one. Fairly loud when played acoustic. I think I have a pic of the inside on here somewhere that explains the setup better than I can. Thanks for your interest.
Hey Kid: I sold this one but plan another. The tin I have is really BIG!, so I'll try to find another one. Will get in touch before I start & maybe we can compare notes.
Later;
Bob
