So I'm driving along the backroads near where I live, and I approach this particular place where a family of clowns used to live. (Yeah, that's what I said, a family of clowns.) They were once a staple of every area parade and festival around these parts. Their clown car was always parked out along the side of the house, and it always made me smile when I drove past. (presumably they had another 'regular' car for their ordinary comings and goings.)

. . . anyway, I'm just thinkin' to myself that I hadn't seen hide nor hair of these clowns in the longest time - when I notice some rusty ancient old tools that have been hauled out to the road with a 'FREE' sign taped on 'em.

Well never one to pass up free tools, I snatch 'em up and haul 'em home . . . and I'll be damned if they're not just the items I need to finish up my makeshift cbg workshop .

I scored this primeval scroll saw:

AND LOoK AT THIS MUTHA . . .

It's a homemade, cobbled together, clown-hacked drill press. I LOVE IT.

drill press

(The drill motor didn't come with it, and doesn't quite fit in the mount. I just sat it there to give an idea of how it would work.)

Anybody else got any scarfed freebie tools to showoff?

Haa the drill press made me laugh!
that drill press is the dopest thing I've seen.

imagine the mojo that's in those tools.

before long everytime you use them you'll humming a circus tune.
RESULT! Im not sure I could cope with all this modern stuff though - makes my gear look dated!!
Dead Clown Tools! Totally the best name for a thread ever. Good catch too. Love the drill press. Clowngenuity.

I don't have any freebie tools, but I've found that Flea Markets are the best places for rusted, but workable things like drill bits, wrenches and nails. You gotta dig down into the junk boxes and offer cash.
As a former clown I am offended. Return the tools to the clowns, you scalawags!
Ok, so this confirms my fear of clowns. Scroll saws. Makeshift drill presses. Just what were these "clowns" really into? Did they have any heavy, liquid filled barrels on the street side too???? Hmmmmm? That's not.... blood... I see on the drill press?

EEEEeeeeeeeeaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

Oh, so I have an imagination.
Never underestimate the ingenuity of a desperate clown.
"Dead Clown Tools" Good band name!
I'm trying to figure, are the clowns dead or the tools? The title sure caught my attention. He's right great name for a band. Maybe just Dead Clowns.
How about the shoes, did you pick up any Clown Shoes? You could make didly bows out of them shoes.
I was just thinking, you could ditch those,,,, ,,,,, When Hollywood calls,,,,
not yet, but I've been making it a point to drive by every once in awhile. As soon as those clown shoes hit the curb, I'll be all over them.
