Some kind of reso-dombra ("dobro-dombra", yay!)  would be enough ;-)

That's funny.  I'm working on a micro-reso-diatonic-strummer myself right now.  Here's an in-work picture:

 It will have a piezo built into the biscuit bridge.

Yep, 3" sink strainer.  The box measures only 7-1/2 x 3-5/8 x 1-1/2.

Thanks!  It's an old Questa Ray box I found among my father's stuff.  Hope it sounds good when finished.
