Please help: I'm having troubles on how to add a jack to the box to plug in.

Hi,
I want to electrify my CBG, but the jacks I have aren't long enough to go through the side of the box so that I can screw them in properly.
I want the jacks to be on the bottom edge (much like a regular 6-string guitar). But, when I drill the proper diameter hole in that part, the jack stem (the threaded part) is not long enough and I can't screw it in.
I can't find any jacks that have a longer threaded stem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Nice guitar,  was reading the description and wondering how you know its solid spanish cedar? I have a simular box and its plywood construction. Just wondering.

Thanks, guys, here's Augusta Guitars' CBG #2, by yours truly. Let me know what you think:

I was able to wire it up, no problem. For that input jack issue I was having, I used the cabinet door pulls, as you can see from the photos.
As far as the cigar box goes...if it's made of wood, it's always made of Spanish Cedar. This is what cigars are typically packaged in because that type of wood maintains the humidity balance that cigars need. Most cigar boxes are either Spanish Cedar or cardboard which is packaged with Spanish Cedar blocks to maintain this humidity. All the boxes used on the guitars are wood, therefore they're Spanish Cedar.

This isn't regular cedar that you normally would buy at Lowe's but it's a specific type of cedar (Spanish). Hope this helps.

That is helpful, good to know. I did not know they were all the same wood. The color seems to vary a lot from very white to dark under the paper labels. So those nice little liners I use for my bridges are Spanish cedar too?
