The Cigar Box Guitar Movement is just about to break wide open....I am working on the biggest of the biggest thing ever! It's going to be fantastic for all in involved in the hobby!

Just sit back an watch all the new folks come around ....I will admit up front many will be younger and possible teens and youth....so be kind and mind your "p's and q's" ....but Cigar Box Guitars is about to go big time global!

Ha Ha ...you guys have no Idea what's coming ...stay tuned for 2023!

Additionally, I think the "DIY Revolution" (bigger than just CBGs) of a couple decades past has fizzled. I may be reaching here, but it seems like people used to want to watch a 10 minute video of someone making something... and then make it themselves. Nowadays, it seems like most folks just want to watch a 1 minute video of someone saying "look at this cool thing I made" opposed to "this is how you can do the same thing." It's not necessarily good or bad, just different... but CBN is definitely feeling the change.

I think you bring up a good point AGP. The losses of Anonymous Pick and Dave Lynas have left a huge hole in the community. I don't know that anyone will ever fill it. Then add Shane's recent separation from CB Gitty and the discontinuation of the Gitty Gang Show and well... that's a whole lot of momentum lost.

Yep - I am more connected with some of the CBN folks on FB now.  I do appreciate the archives of information that still exists here.  As well as the photos and videos.  Miss several of the old-timers.

I think Callyfest and a lot of the Pizzaz on CBN sadly died with the passing of Dave Lynas and The Anonymous Pick. ;-{ ;-{

Maybe so,  Sad for sure, but I am thankful for the fun and friendships - would see some folks on FB.

They stopped doing them regularly last year and said they'd go to an occasional cadence, but I think they've only had 2 shows since then so it's REALLY occasional. As far as I can tell, they didn't even do one for St Pats which was always a big thing in the past. I think CBN is on life support folks.

Yup.  I did not know the Gitty show had passed. It was a pretty good show, but on at a time when I was usually busy.  Change is constant.

I would agree that CBN has become far less popular than it was. With Shane having less CB Gitty involvement and the cancellation of the weekly Gitty Gang Show... I imagine it will become less popular with every passing day. Sad. :-(
