This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Hi Paul, good to see you on the forum again. Nice job, shame about the faults. it's going to look good with a sunburst effect. Will you lay clear coats over the gold paint?

Hey Taffy, Saw your Violin build on the throw back build contest, awesome.

I was 2 coats of clear on the gold one when a bug committed suicide on the back and removing said bup went down to the primer which caused a hole in my metallic paint. After many curse words, I managed to fix the hole and got both SG's ready for paint and clear. Today it's 75 degrees out and I was going to finish painting these, but the moisture is way up making it muggy and have 20mph wind. So no painting today. May have a long wait. May have to switch over to my amp projects.

Just finished build #3 and a rack to hang them from. Pictured left to right #1 - #3. Just received my order of hardware to start build #4. #4 will be my first fretless.

Looks good Michael!! Happy holidays :)

Great job Michael.

Had a bad Sciatica attack that left me bed ridden for a month. I'm walking now and doing stuff again.

I made a JBass about 10 years ago because some of the bass players I liked back in the day played them. I didn't care much for the single coils, so I wired them together in series to the second volume pot(JBass has 2 volumes and 1 tone-no switch). I liked it better, but I still wanted some Gibson type thud.

I got a 6-string WickedBucker from Gitty and put it in the neck position of my bass, now it has some thud without the mud. It's wired to the first volume and everything works great.

Hey, welcome back Paul, glad your health is improving. nice looking bass guitar and interesting mods.
Taff

Me Too, this Sciatica attack was horrible.

The 6-string Wickedbucker is making a fantastic neck Bass pickup since it has a 4k output. I'm sure it would make a great 6-string guitar pickup for the neck position as well.

Trippy shape, Paul! the original pre CBS control setup was 2 stacked concentric pots? I think CBS was trying to shave a little money off production costs by switching to different pots?

I used a seat pan from a dinette chair for the body made of Malaysian Rubberwood(Oak). It wasn't big enough for the Strat upper horn that I traced onto the wood, so I rounded it off for a Tele-ish shape. ;)

The wiring and electronics are the standard J Bass setup, just the pickup arrangement is different. LOL

I think CBS-Fender did try the concentric pots on their J Bass to save money on control plates, so they could just use one plate for all their Bass models?
