been a long time people, I been busy and building a lot of things which for administration reasons I shouldn't post on here, but I got something new I gotta show off and get some advice on.

During the 2020 lockdown, I built my 6 String/coursed string big box build (I haven't named it yet, need suggests there as well) and I loved it. At the moment I'm building another box, gonna have a very different layout and design, but the box will remain pretty much the same,

What I need advice with is the tailpiece, I got 2, one short, one long and I'm not sure what to go with, the length of the tailpiece will have a big effect on the position bridge and I need experienced people for this.
the pictures show what I have in mind, the longer tailpiece looks good but I'm not sure what effect have the bridge over the soundhole cover will have.

Please help me.

-Bridge placement ain't random. It is hard linked to scale length.

Thank you everyone for your advice and opinions on this and also thank you for telling me how to actually post using the HTML, that is very helpful.

I'm gonna go with the shorter tailpiece, it just makes more sense and it looks better. I'll tell you a little more about what I'm trying to create. this is gonna be a pure slide instrument, so the action is going to be high, high enough that I could grip right around the neck without my hand touching the strings above. gonna have a shorter scale, but adjustable, bbetween 23 and 25 inches and I got a set of light Jazz 12/52 strings with a wound G. its gonna big, its gonna be heavy and its gonna be loud if I get the body right. I'm aiming for Elmore James, Ry Cooder kind of sound.

I'd layout the neck with the box, measure out your desired scale length, then you'll have an idea where the bridge goes.   Then you may need to tweak the neck placement in the box (ie- longer or shorter neck tail length) to get the bridge where you want it.  Then you can start looking at the tailstock choices.  Setting some backward angle on the neck (like 5 degrees) will increase your break angle over the bridge (meaning the bridge ends up being taller).
