The inside is fully accessible by removing the brass corners. Without having to remove the strings!
The spring is a tip from Del Puckett. It adds reverb to the guitar. Cool!

I suspect someone/s here can tell us if somehow connecting a spring to the pickup in a more direct way would give (via an amp) more reverb? I've done several and acoustically it took 4-5 of 'em to give a louder reverb effect. -Glenn
