This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?
I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.
A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Picky, picky, picky! LOL Try this one!
Thank you sir. I primarily cut very Hard woods. Great video, leaves options. I like where he said put the blade low but the teeth just above. With ebony or such and a sharp blade you get a cut that’s like glass. Steady feed, and I do like Taffy’s idea of a flat piece of wood for a push stick, especially if the piece is thinner than your push stick. I’ve had push sticks hit the blade at the end of the cut and kick me in the gut. I cut a finger board off an ibeanez neck, blade had to be high, just skimmed the truss rod, but worked. Scary and stupid. So I think the bottom line is experience, trial and error. The video shows that there is no one answer. Thank you KD.
Must be nice! Ebony, hell I feel good when I snag a piece of walnut or hickory!
Next time I get some I'll send you a piece Kool Dog. My brother lived in Wash DC. He found a shop, and gifted me some wood. Old. Ebony has a colorful grain pattern, it's often dyed black. I have some off cuts of walnut, helped a friend with a portable mill. Outside pieces, still thinking about getting them through the saw. Ebony is nice, just a B$tch to work with. I'm trying to make a point with very hard wood. Raise the blade 2 1/2 inchs, square it up, and make a slice. Scary.
I won't say no to that offer. I have a friend that restores historic homes, so I recivie cutoffs from hardwoods big enough for headstock.
I Aim to please! :-)
You can always get another push stick, but not another finger :( I feel you Daniel, I know plenty of people who only use one blade, usually one of those multi-use blades, but for harder woods, I’m like you , I have different blades for different grades? An old woodworker once told me “better to work smarter, than harder” took me a couple mishaps to figure that out,but knock on wood , I still have all my fingers, for now :D Be safe on those saws fellas, you’ll need those fingers, Thanksgiving is coming up soon :)
Roger that. I have one very thin kerf blade, needs a “stabilizer” ( huge washer). Very cool. Saves wood, very clean cut. I still like the diablo, not as thin but sharp. Anybody interested in a great tip to taper a fingerboard. Works like a charm, for other angular cuts as well. Let me know, just a bit of typing. Many may use this method already, just for me tapering seemed complicated. Thanks Brian, all. I like that, be smart. I give much thought into the cutting I’m gonna do. One reason is I use a friend’s table saw, bring my own blades.
Came across a video of a man with a cabinet shop and hasn't had one tablesaw in 40 or so years in it! Most his cuts are done by radial arm saw. He said they are safer. Personally they scare the hell out of me! My fear is from an accident in shop class where a student not paying attention cut off his thumb. Not the end, but the whole Damn thing! I was given one and I junked it like a dumb ass. That was before my "addiction" to CBGs! What's that old saying? "Hindsight is 20-20!"
I also saw one where someone took apart an arm saw and made a table saw wot of it. Instead of pushing the workpiece into the blade, he stepped on a pedal and the blade came forward. Pretty dame clever I thought. But do you think I can find it again, noooo! If anybody comes across it please let me know!
My son bought me a DeWalt 720 radial arm saw for my birthday, now I feel I have to use it, I was quite happy with my Triton bench with Makita 9 1/2" saw in it, plus my Makita compound mitre saw, and also a mini table saw,[7 1/2" blade], cheapo, but very friendly to use, the issue I have with the r/arm saw is, it is a totally different mind set, ripping is much the same as a table, but x cutting the saw is "active" and a bit of inattention, particularly on start up can send the saw towards you and whatever digits that are placed badly, overall, not a big deal, but a trap for the unwary.
