That would work, just make sure the wire has the tightest fit possible in the connectors or you’ll get some noise. Grounding the strings is very necessary & a given, 60 cycle hum will drive you mad! Don’t fret about your soldering skills, nobody’s perfect right off, it’s like everything else, it needs practice. But don’t let it hold you back, hone your skills on old/burnt parts, practice makes perfect. Cheers :)

The biggest problem in soldering is not cleaning the terminals, wire, and iron. Use a stiff bristled brush and clean everything with alcohol, then don't touch it with your fingers. You will be surprised how well the solder flows.

Thanks for all the replys guys, much appreciated! They are a crimp style connector so it will be a tight fit. Seem to have worked out a pic too...!
