It should work.  Better for a 4 string than a five.  Kind of a banjo uke scale.  Good wishes.

That was my thinking and having looked into it, I could have this as a banjo or a uke, literally a matter of what strings I use on it that will define it.

Remember for the frets to sound their desired notes and chords that the 12th fret must be in close to the exact middle between nut and saddle.  If it is 10 inches from nut to 12th fret, there needs to be 10 inches from saddle to 12th fret.

This I knew, even chose a tin that will work best with this length, the bridge is going to sit near enough in the middle of the tin.
