Anybody have any suggestions or measurements for string spacing on a 4 string cbg using 1x2 neck ? I would like the strings to be spaced far apart for ease of playing. Any help would be great

Hey if you check out Frank Fords website he has a good tutorial on making a fret spacing rule. (lots of guitar making info)

I will post a more hi res version on my page. Use the higher res version as a guide to cut the nut or saddle/bridge string spacing. The horizontal lines are for alignment, NOT fret placement or fret markers. -WY
The spacing of the strings is really a matter of preference. You might want to make them like a regular acoustic spacing though. It won't have impact on the sound as much as your comfort in playing. Bottom line, not too close together, not too far apart. I guess if they are too far apart a chord wouldn't sound right and too close together a chord might buzz or sound jumbled. I have plenty of regular guitars laying around the house, I will see what the average is on an acoustic and let you know. I'm guessing that you could just about lay an average #2 pencil in between the strings, maybe a little closer than that.
I found this Spacing Chart very useful. Spacing is compensated for the thickness of strings (rather than all being equally spaced), so you get equal spacing between strings and not from centre to centre of strings. To use just use a rule or paper marked with the width of your fretboard or neck and place across the 4 strings that you are going to use (probably the 5th, 4th, 3rd & 2nd), allow about 3-4 mm neck width greater than the strings on each side. Original came from somewhere on this site. Regards John D

Got this in a high res format??? Looks like a DWG or can it be made into an EPS?
