warning , profanity ahead !

so i went to salvation army and found this little tiny barbie karoake thing . it had echo and it was half price for 98 cents . i bought it even though i have tried to mod barbie echo modules before with bad luck . got it home , it worked ! set it down , minutes later deet (my lil girl) pcked it up and i heard some barney songs comming out of it . "hook the mic up , its got echo " i said . they got the mic , no echo ! i guess it broke when i set it down , wtf ?!?!

i was all settled in to watch rifftracks , this was 4 hours ago .

opened it up monkeyed around , turns out besides the fact that the kid who owned it spilled a quart of milk in it , it had a bad trace the size of a half a fly hair . this was after many many troubleshooting runs / last ditch laying of hands efforts .

then i found the timing resistor for the delay , cut that out and started trying pots on it (gives it a super long echo) , went thru a half dozen pots / resistor combos , finally got a long delay with a 50 k pot , but you could only turn it 1/4 before the delay crashed . it had some goofy 22k timing resistor , maybe if i went in series with a 5k pot , do they even make those ?!?!

then i realized after all this , we were turning it on every minute and a half , this piece of shit has an auto shut off . what kind of add ridden mtv atention span crack baby kid plays with an echo mic with sound effects/music for a minute and a half ? i was so busy it never dawned on me .

tried holding all the switches in to see if it defeated the auto off (one at a time then all four) wasted another 10 minutes , also put a jack in the ipod slot like that was gonna work . (nice try ken)

fuck i havnt eaten anything today ! i cant even drink this warm beer i am so pissed / headachie / nausious / angry at barbie .

oh well i will put some body contacts on it to alter the delay time and give it to my niece , i was gonna cut it into a theramin , maybe even use it as a 2 channel mixer (it had 2 mic ins) on the bad idea .
