I am so mega excited right now. I'm sure many, many of you have had that moment in your playing when things just began to click into place. I've been playing on a four string for the entire day after something clicked in my ability, or mind or whatever and I just managed to play my first PROPER blues solo. The whole playing "thing" seems to have finally sunk in through my pig headed thickness! The blues basic, that 12-bar basic, suddenly makes the transition from what I've heard those blues greats play to being able to play one tiny portion of it. I'm starting to be able to play what I want to play and what I hear in my head and WOW that's gotten me excited!! I know it's only the beginning but man that sure felt good haha.

What about you? When did it start to click? Did the high and excitement continue with other breakthroughs shortly after this stage or did the second click take as long as the first one for you? I'd love to hear your stories. I am absolutely soaring over here, or "buzzing" as we'd say locally.

Perhaps that is my problem.  I need to devote more time to "zen and the art of the cigar box guitar".  Many times my attention span does provide some distraction.  Oh, look, there is a squirrel in the tree out back.

Totally, Mr Petry! Pesky squirrels thieving our attention. If it's not them then it's my cat. Or Dani. She's pesky too. Ommm! haha

True 'Bear, but our "zen moments" with the special people in our lives make us who we are and guide us on our journeys.  Without my Patti I probably wouldn't be here today.

Absolutely, Mr Petry. Abso-blinking-lutely.

Very true. Computers and TVs can really consume time from reality if we let them. I love unplugging for a while and just playing. The videos I posted to your comment were great for helping me to get further on with my playing but after that it's a case of turn it off and practice until it becomes second nature. I'm not there with the second nature part yet but it's awesome that the t'internet allowed me to get on the right path.
