Hey guys, Looking at stuff on YouTube the other day I saw where they were making Bongo's using those five gallon water bottles. One guy was wishing he could tune his so I think I came up with an answer for him. I have to make a few electrical connections yet & wait for the glue to dry before wiring the plug in like a cork on a bottle. I get that done then I can see if I can tune it any using low & I mean LOW air pressure. Any one else done something like this?. I don't want to blow the bottle up and lose an eye or something.

Got everything done, Then redid the air valve. Doesn't change the cord but makes the tone crisper with air pressure. Have to move the piezo around the jug to find the sweet spot. Not very enthused about the results but had fun making and fiddling around with it though.
Interesting, I wonder if you could stretch something over the bottom to create a more drum like sound. I have seen people stretch a large latex balloon over containers with decent results. Thanks for sharing C.

I think you would need to change the inside volume to change the cord. Maybe by adding water to take up space inside the jug you would get it to tune to the cord you want. You would have to put the pickup on the outside then I think.
I have redone the air valve by adding a low pressure pressure gauge & a bleeder valve. Moved the piezo to the outside slope of the neck. Haven't messed with it much lately but putting something inside to change the volume of the bottle is a good idea. I'll have to try that after I get done with the 3d printer i am working on now.
