I've caught the CBG bug. I just finished my first build and had a great time and learned so much new information. I've done some freelance writing in the past and have been thinking about putting a project together and publishing something myself. I would like to put together a CBG magazine. I would like to get a sample digital issue together and put together a Kickstarter proposal to try to get funding for a print edition. Is there anyone out there that would like to contribute? It can be an article, how to column, photos, art , really anything you can think of. If you have any ideas please let me know. I'm also thinking it would be cool to offer a digital mix tape of mp3's with the issue. Any feedback would be appreciated. Message me here of cbgmagazine@gmail.com. Thanks.

yes good idea, count me in for articles on building  tips and musical ideas, recording setups, cbg albums, advertising etc.(-:

Gorgeous guitars and I really like your logo and imagery. I'm going to check your tunes out as well. One of my main concerns was building tips and articles due to my inexperience. I would greatly appreciate anything you would be willing to contribute. I'm trying to respond to all the great posts now and I'd like to get back to you with some ideas.

Well....

Why??

Honestly, I don't want to rain on your parade.. But we've already got this awesome online community. What does a periodical offer us that we don't already have (in real time) anyone who wants to contribute already can, plus it's indexed and searchable....

Seems like a pointless trip back in time to me, sorry

maybe a printed publication could reach a wider audience outside specialist web sites?  hardly anybody knows about cbg's, we're pretty insular.. they could be distributed at guitar fairs, fests and gigs..

indeed  ..   nobody accidentally  comes across a  website  at  your   local 7-11 ,  or  doctors  office   waiting  room  ,  or  at  the super market  check out  ,  or  etc etc  etc  ...

sure  "we  "  have  this site   .....   but   you  have to  think  of  "they"  . capturing  an audience  not   looking for  you  is the       objective .

A print publication reaching a wider audience than the internet? Save the trees! (well, save the trees for making guitars out of). An online periodical could be interesting though... kind of like a more fleshed out version of the Gitty newsletter.

reaching a wider audience than ONLY  the internet  .

Thank you for the response. I'm not trying to compete with or imitate any other publication though. I would like to produce something weird and unique.

I see what you're saying but the investment required to produce a magazine with a big enough circulation to end up in supermarkets, waiting rooms etc would be massive. These days you could spend a fraction of the money to just pay Facebook to find everone who lists guitars as an interest and spam them with adverts for an online mag... don't get me wrong its a lovely idea and I would love to contribute to something like that. Just doesn't seem like something that could happen in 2014...
