Wanted to know if anyone knew of a P90 like PUP for a 3 or better a 4 string? I am not a big fan of SC PUPs and I personally think a HB (that I have way too many of) would be over kill! The thick gritty P90 sound will work better for a future project I have cooking!

Let me know folks! Thanks!

http://tedcrocker.com/ Ted supplys alot of builders, and does great work. And very fair pricing.
Very cool, I have seen his stuff. I did not know he made a P90" like PUP! I will talk to him!
Would a normal P90 not work? I just bought a couple of mini humbuckers, haven't got anything to install them with yet though, angus young apparently prefers the P90 sound, I'm eyeing off some Jason Loller pickups at the moment, do PUPs need to be custom made because of the 3/4 string thing?

Cheers

Brett
I've also caught the P90 bug. I just made one for a 4 string flying V CBG, P60 maybe? It sounds thick and is
loud as hell. Check Stewmac newsletter archive for a CBG P90 how-to. It's pretty good. BTW an alnico 5
magnet cut in half is a perfect fit up to 4 strings. If you don't want to go DIY Ted's pickups are quite badass.
This is the one your talking about?

That is the one.
Hi brett. I have used a lot of six string pickups for my 3 and 4 stringers. Check out my picks. For 4 string just center the pickup under the strings it works fine. For 3 string ur gonna have to angle the pup to catch the strings. They wont be exact but close enough to do the job. I have also used bass pups and they worked out great for my 4 string. Hope this helps ya. I plan on venturing deeper into different styles of pups in the near future so watch my page for new pics. Good building.
Ed
