Christmas 2012 will be here before you know it!

Shane Speal and Dan Sleep have organized the Christmas album in previous years, Dan asked me if I would like to help coordinate it for this year!  (-:

For any of the new folks here on the Nation, we have compiled a yearly album of songs played, composed and sung by our members.

The primary requirement is that the recording be of good quality, for example, If you are singing, we want to be able to hear your voice!

The 2009 Christmas album contained 23 songs, 2010 Christmas contained 40 songs, 2011 contained 18 songs. More songs is not necessarily better, but we really don't have a limit on the number of songs we can include.

There has been a tremendous response to CB Nation collab projects this year, let's top the year off with with a

CRACKER CHRISTMAS ALBUM!

The amazing Artwork for the album cover has again been generously donated by Thomas Boatwright ...!

You can submit a cover of a traditional ("non copyrighted") song, or you can do something you wrote/composed yourself.

Please respond in this thread if you would like to participate!

...and include the song that you would like to have included in the album. Once we have the final album compiled, it will be posted as a free download, and anyone will be able to download it. So, you will be able to pass the links along to your friends and family!

Members' names and songs will be published here on this header,  completed MP3 files can be emailed to me at....

Download presentation page is currently being prepared, watch for further details!

IT'S READY!

nine tracks in, 13 still to come in, time to get busy folks! (-:

Sorry Steve, had a couple of builds come in with the customers wanting them for Christmas. I'm hoping to still have time to crank out a song but it's looking tight! I'll keep you posted mate. Looks like it's going to be a great album judging by the songs coming in.

See pick doing MEANSLEEVES/Greensleeves. Got to tell you, Mr Anon, true story of the song:

Here in Glasgow, back in the 1920's (and even to this day), wee boys were too macho to use a handkerchief (and lots of dads' too! ) So the wee buggers would wipe their noses on their sleeves. Through time, Henry the V111 heard of this, and thought "snot is green, noses wiped on sleeves, ergo : " GREEN SLEEVES" (now ah KNOW ya saw that comin a bit earlier! lol).

Anyhoo, Henry, havin no wifes to execute that day, tried his hand at writin a wee song, and look waht happened: Pick gets a song to put on the Christmas album?!

(Disclaimer: at time of publishing, all information above was either true or false , depending on how ya look at it (aj ALWAYS look for  "get out  clause", and a Santy Clause)      ;)

lol ,, i went  with  the  kings rejected booty  call   theroy  ;-)

then  his reaction to  it   maybe   ;-)

What ya mean "lol" pick. Ah'm tryin to educate you as regards Glasgow history and culture. ("Snowballs at dawn" time,Pick ma man!)        ;)

Sharkey no need to be too fussy - recorded my song this afternoon, in the can! ..even tho' the MCIHGC were slightly drunk we got through it! ...)-:

Hey Steve, Had the day off today so have had a crack at Jolly Old St Nick for the album....in true cigar-box-style it is a bit of a shambles...but what the hell eh!!! will mix it down this week and email it off to you. Is a wave file ok, if not I could try and fine a wave to mp3 convertor?

There's one thing worse than allowing a non playing sick singing guy to
up-load a song towards a CD...& that's allowing him to up-load two songs
LOL...that'll teach you! :)

They're both in the mail Steve, second one is titled 'Santa Jams'
Thanks for allowing me some fun...hope they don't ruin the festivities for anyone. :O
Looking forward to hearing the others!!!

Thanks FatBoy and 'bug - that's 13 songs in the can now! (-:

Is anyone doing "O Holy Night"?

If not I would like to participate with that song.

Brian Hunt.

it's not listed, go for it Brian! (-:

Hell-Ô-Ô-

"Merry Christmas Baby" just done then sent e few minutes ago... HHHHHmmmm...maybe not for children (lol)

Now working on "Santa Claus is Back in Town"...with his new guitar...

hope i'll be good enough... i'm honored to come on board and proud to participate...
