Thank you, Andries! I like the idea of fair maidens ! I am digging this tuning and it feels comfortable. I had this git in dgbe for so long and now it feels like a new instrument. Thanks!

Thanks Unc! I tried several tunings with these same strings and this one settled in and is close enough to other G tunings to feel familiar to my fingers. Maybe the Appalachian sound is the closeness to banjo and dulcimer tunings. Thanks again!

Thank you, Snuffy! I just went with the flow of the tuning and it does bring out an older modal sound.

Nice set of chords and licks Derek, i to hear wiskey in the Jarr kind like strum patterns, mid evil high and low,Verry pleasant tuning Dggd  ,some fair maiden in a meadow kind of song ! fine tone from that 4 !

Hmm.  I hear what Snuffy says and I hear that too.  But I hear Appalachian too and banjo tones.  Very good song, tone, title and playing.
